Chapter 2.15 Interlude; The Ex and The Incident

It's been a while since she's felt this way

She felt stupid, and knew she was being a little naive. She wasn't even sure if she should be doing this. It was an awful thing to do, and she knew it was an awful thing. She wasn't going to deny that it was awful. But then again, sometimes we have to do bad things.

It was weird her calling on him. After all, usually he comes over to her place. She's never had any need to come here, until tonight that is. She was worried as she walked up to the front door, unsure of what he was going to say. She knew that his fiance was out of town, after all, he had been complaining about it to her a short time ago, before the incident happened. She still felt like an idiot over that.

Victoria's hand lingered after knocking confidently on the door. She immediately regretted it as soon as she did. For God's sake, Damon was with that Alyssa now! She shouldn't have come here and shouldn't have even thought about doing what she was going to. She quickly turned around to leave, hoping that he somehow didn't hear her knocking.

She was down the stairs and almost away when the front door opened. "Vicky?" She heard Damon ask, and she face palmed/ After chiding herself, she turned around and looked at him.
"Yeah, it's me." She smiled, rather awkwardly. She wished that she hadn't come here now. It was a bad idea, a terrible idea to come here.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, concerned. "Is Tawni alright?"
"Tawni's fine." She went back up the stairs and over to him. "I just wanted to talk."

"Talk about what?" Damon was rather confused about why his ex wife needed to talk to him. It wasn't like the two of them weren't friends, but things have been a little awkward between them lately.
"That doesn't matter as much." She murmured, changing the subject. "So, this is Ashton?" She grinned. "He's really sweet, he has your eyes." She smiled.
"Vic, we were married for years, I know when you're avoiding something." He half smiled, and she sighed.
"I kinda wanted to talk alone, without any toddlers overhearing." She frowned, and followed his lead inside.

"I'll put Ash to bed and then we can talk, you can either wait up here or downstairs." He smiled at her, still curious about what it was that she wanted to talk about.
"I'll just stay up here." Vicky half smiled in return. She felt rather out of place being here, as to be expected. It wasn't her place, it was someone else's entirely. It was her ex husband's fiance's house. She didn't feel right even going downstairs on her own. she felt like she was intruding.
He could tell that she felt uncomfortable, "I'll try and be quick." and with that he went into Ashton's room.

Vicky looked around the hallway, but found there wasn't a lot to look at. She sighed, and wandered around a little, noticing that there were quite a lot of bedrooms in this house. Without much else to distract herself, her mind began to wander back to the incident.

It wasn't like she was planning on kissing him, or that she was planning on sabotaging his relationship with his new slu Alyssa. It was just a heat of the moment thing, and she didn't mean to. It wasn't like it was a bad kiss though, it was nice. It was the same similarities she was used to, and it was just like how it used to be.

She felt him ease into the kiss, and honestly thought there was still something there. Of course there was! Those kinds of feelings don't just disappear. But when he pulled away quickly and said he was with Alyssa, Vicky felt her heart break. Even though it was naive though, she knew there was still something there.
"Who are you?" Vicky was broken out of her memory by the sound of someone she didn't know.

Vicky turned, and saw a child there. "I could ask you the same thing." She murmured, narrowing her eyes. Who was this?
"It's my house, not yours." She replied quietly, trying to stand up for herself but not doing all too good of a job. "It's my mom's house, and that's my room." She managed to make eye contact with Vicky.
She then remembered who she was. "Oh, you're Belle, aren't you? I'm Tawni's mom." She looked down at her. She remembered Tawni saying that Alyssa once lost her. How irresponsible.

Belle narrowed her eyes. "I don't like Tawni." She said outright. "She's mean, and scared me." She frowned.
Vicky sighed, "I'm sorry if she scared you. She's not all too good with young children." She shrugged and bit  back from calling Belle annoying. Why couldn't she just go back into her room?
"I'm not young. I'm the oldest I've ever been!" She stamped her foot, glaring at Vicky "You're mean too." She frowned, then went back to her room.

When Damon came back out of Ashton's room, Vicky wasted almost no time in saying "I wanted to talk about the incident that happened the last time you were over at mine."
He pursed his lips, "Vic, I already told you that I'm with Alyssa." He sighed.
"I know you did, I just wanted to talk to you about it." She frowned in return. "Could we talk downstairs?" She didn't want another run in with Belle.

"I don't get what you were trying to accomplish by coming here. I'm with Alyssa." He spoke simply, looking straight forward.
"You said yourself that the two of you were having arguments." She countered. "And you said told me that she went away with someone even when you asked her not to."
"So, you came here to repeat what I said about my fiance?" He asked, briefly looking over at her.

"I'm trying to make you realize." She started, and words started to fail her. She sighed, and paused a moment before continuing. "There's something between us, and you know that there is. You might say that the kiss meant nothing, but it did mean at least something." She frowned. "We both know it did, and the fact that you didn't pull away right away proves it."

"I didn't pull away right away because I wasn't expecting it." He countered, not wanting to think about it.
"But you leaned into it." She pointed out, not sensing his discomfort.
"And I didn't mean to lean into it. It was force of habit, the same as all the ones before we split up." He did feel bad about what happened, and he knew deep down that there was still some part of him that did have feelings for her. But how couldn't he? He and Vicky were together since high school.

She sighed, and stood up. "I get it. It meant nothing to you." She murmured, just wanting to leave now. She felt stupid, but she knew that there had to be at least a little bit of him that still cared. "But if you ever want to be with someone more like you or someone you know you can trust, you know where I am." She gave him a small smile, and walked out.

Chapter 2.14 Something Special
______________________________

I felt like I needed a break away from Bridgeport, and I had this idea for an interlude, so there you go :) It's only really short this chapter though.
Hopefully, if Carrie doesn't get bugged by blender and give up, the next chapter should be out before I go on holiday, but I don't know.
Carrie has a habit of talking in third person.... She doesn't know why either.
Anyway, this chapter was quite easy to do. Rather simple and only took place in the house so yay

  1. Well I've given up on Damon and Alyssa. :c It just seems like there are too many problems at this point for the two of them to end up together.

    1. Too many problems, too many people in the way and too many insecurities too. I do feel really bad about doing this, but rolls can contradict and direct the story I suppose :(

  2. I can see where Tawni gets her behaviour from

    1. That made me laugh. I think bad attitude is something they both share

  3. Like mother like daughter. Rude to someone in their own home? Wow. I wish Belle had stuck around, if just to make sure that Damon knew that she knew. Ugh. I don't like Vicky, if only because she doesn't know how to separate the past and the present. There has to be a reason Vicky and Damon split. There is more in the past than pleasant thoughts.

    1. Like mother like daughter indeed. Belle would have stayed but didn't want to deal with someone who was being mean.
It's a little tricky with Vicky (haha, rhymes) because on one hand, their marriage ended for a reason but then again there had to be at least some stigma there in the first place.
She only seems to remember the pleasant thing, which actually applies for the both of them...

  4. Tsk tsk Damon. It's mean to Alyssa, but that's a mistake from his part. A bad mistake, but for some reason I doubt Alyssa would see it that way. The bigger problem is that he keeps sharing intimate things with Vicky.

Belles comment about beeing at her oldest was funny. She's a bright girl, and stuck it to Vicky. Good for her.

Who is Vicky, thinking of Alyssa as a sl--- and irresponsible anyway? Maybe she needs should look at herself instead? Belle is a lot better brought up than Tawni.

    1. Ay, it is a mean thing to do, but it wasn't fully intentional. Even though she has cheated before and knows that it can just be a mistake, Alyssa probably won't take all too kindly to finding that out.

Belle's quite bright, and just merely said it like how it is. And she wasn't wrong about her being the oldest she has yet been. Good for Belle-y Boo <3 (I love that little nickname for her)

Vicky's a snob. and rather pretentious like kinda how Tawni was. They're those kinds of people don't see their own personal flaws, but Vicky is worse than Tawni is.

  6. Utoh I have a feeling there's some trouble in Damon's future if/when Alyssa finds out. And yay I'm all caught up! :p

  7. Aw, Belle is so cute, and Vicky was rude to her in her own house!

Why was Damon telling Vicky about his and Alyssa's problems? It seems like Alyssa's jealousy isn't unfounded after all.

    1. Belle's fun to write for, and it was really rude of Vicky to be that way to little Belle-y boo.

Her jealousy certainly isn't unfounded, and soon Alyssa will be tempted enough to act on her jealousy and uncertainty...
