Chapter 1.14 Monster

Most girls Rosie's age dream about being a Princess, or being a mermaid

The dream Rosie was having wasn't unlike what most girls would have. She dreamed of being a pretty Princess, in a pretty pink dress with a pretty pink castle that reaches up to the clouds. There were even stables and a zoo in her back garden!
Unfortunately, her dream wouldn't last all too long...

"Breaking into places is a lot easier than what it used to be." Elli mumbled, dusting herself off. Its like people here were idiots. No one even bothered with a smoke detector, let alone a burglar alarm. All points added up in her favor though.

After turning the lights on, she moved over to rest by her desk, her hand gripping on the side. "Rosie." She whispered, kicking the bed with her foot. She rolled her eyes when Rosie didn't wake up, so she kicked the bed harder, and repeated "Rosie." A little louder.

"Huh? What?" She murmured, confused by the sudden awakening. She looked around the room, seeing that the lights were on. Her eyes then caught something black. Black boots. Her eyes drifted slowly upwards until she saw Elli.
"Shush! No one can know you're up." Elli whispered, trying to be nice for once. It was something that really wasn't new to her.

"What do you want?" Rosie murmured, sitting on the bed. She was tired and confused. Right now she should be riding her dream unicorn with her dream prince, not being awake and blinded by bright lights.
"There's something we really need to talk about Rosie." Elli frowned, staying still. "Something really important." Rosie looked up at her fairy friend, wondering what it could be.
Her brown eyes met the fairy's red eyes. Yep, red. They were certainly red. Even though that unnerved Rosie slightly, she knew it probably meant nothing. She was taught not to judge people, and she won't start now.
She sighed softly, wondering why it couldn't wait until morning, then again, her Daddy probably wouldn't let her talk to adults. But would he even believe her? He didn't before...

Rosie adjusted the way she was sat, and then tried to stretch out her back, a little like how a cat would. Seeing as though she probably wouldn't be getting any more sleep anytime soon, she might as well be wide awake "What about?" She asked, then yawned while stretching her arms up above her head, then around in a large circle.
The fairy hesitated before speaking, "Your family's in trouble Rosie. Really bad trouble." Elli spoke softly, trying not to make her upset. She didn't need her Dad waking up and certainly didn't need Rosie saying more things about how she was real. Thank God her father didn't believe that she had seen a fairy.

"I don't get why you're telling me." Rosie frowned, and sat back down on her bum, moving her knees to in front of herself. "Its not like I could do all to much." She mumbled, just being honest. She didn't even know why Elli had come here. Just to say that bad things were happening to her family? That's a little mean. She couldn't stand the thought of what if her Daddy, Erin or Connor got hurt. She didn't want any of them getting hurt, she wanted her family to stay the exact way it was.
Elli half smiled, still fairly sadly though. There was a glint of what appeared to be hope in her eyes though as she said the next sentence "Actually, there is something you can do." She then took out a vial of something in a green bottle, and put it down on the desk. Rosie narrowed her eyes at the green bottle, getting up from her bed.

Elli moved away from the desk to sit back in the chair. Rosie's eyes stayed locked on the glowing and steaming bottle. What was it? Whatever it was, it kind of scared her. Was this some sort of fairy potion.
Elli smiled slightly, and began to hopefully explain "I got this beauty for quite cheap you know. Its all real though, and it won't have any weird side effects either." Her dark eyes glanced to the bottle, as she interlaced her fingers, her index fingers going underneath her chin.

"Side effects?" She murmured, not fully sure what exactly she was trying to get at. Did she want Rosie to do something with the mysterious liquid? "Why would you bring that up?" She frowned, stiffening slightly. She obviously didn't want Rosie to drink that stuff, did she? She became really uneasy.
Elli frowned, sensing that Rosie was uneasy and probably had no clue about what she was trying to say, or what the elixir even was. She leaned forwards, trying to seem nice again.

"Remember when I told you that you could be a witch if you wanted to, also that you'd be a good one?" Elli asked, and Rosie nodded, sitting down by her bed. "Well, this can make you into one." She smiled, fairly widely. She wanted to make it seem as if it was a great thing, which it was in all fairness. Having magic at your fingertips and being able to summon it at will is an amazing thing to have. Sure, witches were more powerful than fairies, but power didn't matter all to much. At least she had it.

"Why me though? Why not Connor?" She pouted, even though she did think about being a fairy or a witch, she didn't want to be one. Her Daddy would be furious if he found out, well he would be more confused than anything... She frowned "Why does it have to be my family anyway?" She sighed.
"Rosie, I'm trying to help you. That's what you don't seem to understand. I want your family to be happy and together. I know what happens to them, and I honestly don't want that to happen. I want you to be happy, and by drinking what's in the bottle can make you happy." Elli spoke softly, wanting Rosie to take it. Like she said, it would make her family a happy one.

"Its your own choice Rosie." Elli mumbled, seeing Rosie thinking about it. She hesitated, then said "We should probably talk about this somewhere else." She mumbled, and held out her hand for Rosie to take.
"Why?" Rosie whispered, looking down at the floor. She just didn't get why everything couldn't be as it was supposed to be. Why couldn't everything just be normal for her?
"You know why. If you really do want your family to be safe, that is." Rosie looked up at Elli, and slowly reached out to take her  hand. As she did, there was a whooshing sound going past her ears, and she looked around to see herself in a whole new place, a whole new, dark looking, place.

Rosie sat down across from where Elli was sat, that stupid bottle was on the table, in the middle of them both. She looked around, on edge. Well, why wouldn't she be on edge? She looked around the cold looking room, wondering why the table was so different from pretty much everything else. It made her wonder, even though it probably had little of importance.
They sat in silence for a little while, either girl waiting for the other to start. Rosie broke the silence by asking "Why is what happens to my family linked to me?" She mumbled.

"Not all your family, just the ones you live with." Elli mumbled, looking at Rosie. She stayed her usual smiley self, despite the fact that her clothes were dark and gothic. She frowned at the words Elli said, what exactly did she mean by that? The only family she really knew was her Daddy, Erin and Connor. She knew Erin and Connor weren't actually related though, and as far as she knew, she had no other family.
"Who's my other family?" She whispered, frowning. She wanted to know.

Rosie kept eye contact with Elli, wanting to know who her other family was. Sure, there was one particular woman she wondered about, but if her Daddy never mentioned her, surly he didn't want to talk about it.
Elli bit her lower lip "I'm not so sure if I should be the one telling you the whereabouts of your mother." She whispered, which managed to get Rosie's attention.
It wasn't that she didn't love her Daddy, she loved him with all her heart, but she wanted to know who her mom was, and why she wasn't around.

"Anyway, this isn't what we came to talk about." Elli snapped, making Rosie tense. The younger girl narrowed her eyes, wondering what Elli's angle could actually be. Why would someone she just met be so interested in helping her family. Rosie stood up, pushing back the chair as she did.
"I don't want this, I don't trust you." She frowned, wanting to go home. There was next to no hope of that, she wouldn't be able to find her way around the town. Besides, she didn't want people seeing her in her pyjamas! How embarrassing would that be?!

Rosie was about to leave, before that though, she wanted to take the bottle and destroy it. "I'm taking this too." She didn't notice Elli's angry, yet still confident face though. She was about to take the bottle from off the table, before it crashed to the floor, letting out a large dose of the pure white, smoke like vapour.
"You couldn't have just done this the simple way, huh?" Elli grinned. standing too.

Rosie looked around frantically, fighting a losing battle with her feet. She wanted to run, but she couldn't. Obviously Elli wasn't hit with the impact of the smoke like how Rosie was. She tried to speak, but only a little murmur would come out, a mouse like squeak.
"You'll be up in a few hours. Nighty night, Princess." Elli grinned, watching Rosie. Her eyelids felt incredibly heavy, as the room started to spin. Whatever was in that bottle was bad, very bad.
As the floor started to raise to the ceiling, everything went dark.

  1. Uh-oh... I really don't like this Elli-fairy person... Why does she want Rosie to be a witch? I don't trust her saying that bad things are going to happen to Rosie's family and she wants to stop them, if she was really worried about what was going to happen to them why would she want to keep all this a secret?

    1. You're questions will be answered soon(Ish). You really shouldn't trust Elli, she's not a nice sim. She's interesting to absently watch, but she isn't nice at all.

  2. Wow. I know that all-black plus red eyes is usual evil, but I was hoping maybe not in this case. Still, Elli certainly seems evil and I don't really believe that she's really doing this out of concern for Rosie's family. Still, it will be neat to see Rosie as a witch (if that's what that potion really did)

    1. Nah, Elli's a bad fairy, and Rosie is a witch now (She has the little yellow outlining). I spent ages trying to find the witches brew elixir so... Yeah, I'm gonna use it.

  3. Hopefully someday Rosie can use her witch powers to get back at Elli!

    1. Huh... I might just have to make Rosie a powerful witch, maybe though. It would be pretty awesome seeing them have a good, old fashioned magic showdown

  5. Rather random of Rosie to be wondering about the table, and being afraid of being seen in her pajamas, when there's a strange fairy and a strange potion in front of her! I'm guessing she was just turned into a witch?

    1. Sometimes though, when faced in kind of scary situations, people tend to focus on the little things, in an attempt to avoid the scary thing that is facing them (that, and she thought she could trust the fairy)

      ...

She has been turned into a witch. You'll learn that properly in the next chapter or so.
